This great German rest. Is tucked away on melbourne beach ! It has awesome German food ! Visited it on my recent visit to coco beach and I am pleasantly surprised ! Great snitzel and goulash ! But the apple streusel was to die for ! Try this place , it will be one of your favorites !

This is an authentic German experience. Almost all the options are focused around a lot of meat, and its very good. I'm not sure what the reviewer was saying about small portions. Even my husband was satisfied, and he eats a lot! It's a beautiful view of the river, good service and a fun experience. I'd definitely recommend.

Last night, while on a trip to visit my mother in Melbourne Fla. we went to Cafe Coconut Cafe for a delightful meal. It was so relaxing watching the sunset over the river, while eating a very tasty meal. Fresh baked rolls with a garlic herb butter and a house salad that was very fresh veggies, homemade dressing with pickled cucumbers, fresh tomato and beet. Our main dish we had grilled chicken, very juicy and roast beef saurbraten with three good size pieces of meat. Prices were reasonable and the atmosphere was delightful. Reminded me of old Florida and would be a great place in the cooler months to sit outside in the cool balmy winter months. We visited in June with temps in the 90's. The indoor air was cool and delightful allowing for a pleasant respite from the heat.

Fantastic German food in a hide-away location that is easy to miss. Refined atmosphere and a nicely varied menu. There are a few outdoor tables right on the Indian River. A perfect setting for sunset dining. A great place for a date.

One of the best restaurants in the area, Cafe Coconut Cove serves excellent German food. On our most recent visit, I had the sausage plate so I could try one of each type of sausage. The bratwurst stood out as the best sausage on the plate - absolutely stellar. The frankfurter was excellent. The veal weisswurst however, disappointed me. I suppose it was boiled - just not my tastes. The sausage plate included German potato salad was a vinegary delight. The mustard and curry ketchup were very good, and came in separate containers so they could be used as the diner likes. Perhaps the best part of this dish was that it felt there were many different tastes on the plate. In the past, I've tried the peppercorn schnitzel, which was phenomenal. Service was excellent. I should note that this is a pricey dining option, relative to other places in the area.

Authentic German Food in a Picturesque Setting You would easily drive past this place, so make sure you have your GPS on! Once you find your way back there though it's definitely worth the trek. Stunning views of the Indian River, especially at sunset. Menu was authentically German in its contents and the four of us in our group all had different meals - Rouladen Plate, Peppercorn Filet, Jaegerschnitzel, Fish Schnitzel - and everyone was very happy with their dishes. We also couldn't resist dessert, of which the Black Forest was my favorite....

I enjoyed my dinner. The food was very tasty. I felt the service was less than stellar. We did arrive at the peak of dinner. Our wait was 50 minutes for our entree. Our waitress came by maybe five times during our visit. For the money, food quality and ease of access I would recommend Elwdiss over the Coconut Cafe.

Reading some of the other reviews some wanted to say that this was "authentic german food." I'm sorry but if this is the standard for German food the bar is set very low. We were a party of four and and each ordered a different dish. My choice was the Goulash with Spaetzle. Taste was OK, but the Spaetzle was unlike any I had seen after having lived in Germany for over 10 years. Sampled the red cabbage with another's order and it tasted just like that that comes out of a jar purchased at the local Aldi. Service was reasonable but overall the food was overpriced for the quality and nothing that would entice me to return.

My wife and I were in town with our three small children and we wanted to have a nice dinner. That is not very easy to do as restaurant options are limited and anything nice doesn't normally seem welcoming to children. We took a chance on Cafe Coconut Cove and were not disappointed. The service was excellent and very friendly and the food was good too. I can't say that I would recommend this restaurant for children, but they certainly did their best to accommodate us and we felt very welcome.

We had the pleasure to try this out for the first time on May 30, 2015. We brought 12 people from Vero Beach. It was well worth the trek. The staff was exceptional, but the food was better than that. We all had different entrees and shared 4 different appetizers. Everything was prepared perfectly. The place was packed and there was a 25-40 minute wait by the time we left. We took our time and spent about 2:45 min for the entire experience. We will be back often. Every entree our group had was phenomenal. The Apple Studel was a great desert and was the black forest cake. Try this for a great dining experience.

I love this place. I was just here on Thursday while I was down visiting my grandparents. This place has some of the best food I've had. The pineapple melt is very good, and so was the peppercorn schnitzel. You'd be hard pressed to not like whatever you order here. The view is great and the atmosphere is very authentic. Apparently in Germany it is not uncommon to have restaurants in homes like this one is - or so a member of my group who lived in Germany said. I'd highly recommend this place.

I came here with my mom on a Friday night. It was busy, but not that busy. The food his is really overpriced, but the sign at the front that says "We love snow birds" seems to imply this. Anyways, the appetizer we ordered was good, but very small for $7.50. We also waited nearly 45 minutes for our food, without any reasons why, until 5 minutes before the food arrived. We talked to the owner, who gave us free dessert coupons and appetizer coupons for our next visit. The aesthetics of the restaurant are nice, but unless bigger portions were offered for what you pay, this would not be my first choice.

One of the best German restaurants on the East Coast! Pork shank is not to be missed! The view is amazing at sunset and the service outstanding! Wish they took reservations and were open 7 days a week!

Just ok Salad was good, setting lovely, but main courses not stellar by any means. Service was slow and it was not that busy. We will will not be returning,

Great food. Wouldn't guess it by the name, but they serve strictly German cuisine. Best we've had in a while! Beautiful location RIGHT on the Indian River.

One of the best kept secrets in the area. Very good German food with comfortable European decor and an excellent view of the river. Best time is sunset. Recommend the Combo plate.

We definitely will go back to the Coconut Cafe. We were with friends who have been to Germany many times and they indicated that the food was authentic, Bavarian influenced, German cuisine. I had the Combination plate, as I am unfamiliar with German food, and had Jagar Schnitzel, red cabbage, a brat, sauerbraten, along with sides. I thought it was excellant. So did our friends. Had potato pancakes for an appetizer that we split and they were also good. Finished off with apple strudel which was very good as well. Good German beer on tap, a nice wine list. Our friend wished they had a better selection of beers but he was extremely satisfied. Wait staff was down to earth, pleasant and attentive. I would highly recommend the Coconut Cafe. Worth the trip and the wait for a table overlooking the Indian River. Try to get a table to view the sunset.

One of our favorite places. Mostly German food with good beer and great wine list. Best to get there for the spectacular sunset, but they don't take reservations. Food is always great! Service good, very clean, always go home with a box of leftovers.

I've never had German food before I came here. But I went with a few people who lived in Germany for a long time. They know their German food. This place is run by a German family. They serve authentic German cusine. The service was great, food was AMAZING, location is beautiful. On a clear summer day you can see the fish jumping out of the water from the outdoor seating. You can also walk out onto a peir in the back. This place has me dying to find a German place in Boston.

Come hungry! Everything we had was fantastic... potato pancakes and liver paté were great. The bread and salads (green salad, cucumber salad, and GREAT cole slaw) were quite tasty. 2 of us split the grill plate, jäger schnitzel, and seafood schnitzel were all fabulous. Wish I could rate dessert but between the wine, the beer, and the food there was NO room for dessert. Maybe next time.

Very good food and nice place. Nice view of the the river. I had the Wiener Schnitzel, bar far the best dish of the 3 other people I was with.

I am from out of town and this is a local gem. You know a place is going to be good when you've never seen an ad but you can barley find a parking space. I had never heard of Coconut Cove but we went here for the first time tonight and it was awesome. We stared with the Potato Pancakes and the Mushroom Toast. I got the Rouladen Plate (One Bratwurst, Red Cabbage, One Rouladen ) , my brother got the Combination plate (Jäger Schnitzel, Bratwurst, Sauerbraten and Red Cabbage) the rest of the table got various things. I can't speak for them but my food was delicious. This restaurant does not take reservations, and I am not sure if it was because of the holiday weekend, but the place was packed. We had a large party so we waited for a long time but we were able to go out on the back patio and have a couple drinks while we waited. The beer selection was minimal but adequate, only imported regional beers. They come in 3 European sizes (0,2 L 0,3 L and 0,4 L) and served in correct glassware. The atmosphere is comfortable and quaint. It is a converted house (and apparently the proprietors live upstairs) so it has a few sort of awkwardly shaped rooms. I wouldn't recommend it for party's of more than about 10, (we had 8 and they were able to sit us at a large round table, otherwise we probably would have taken up a whole room). The food that I tried was spectacular. The potato pancakes were small but great for sharing, and the mushroom appetizer was different but delicious, it came with a horseradish sauce that was awesome on the pancakes as well. The brat was cooked perfectly and the gravy was great. I also got an order of the Spaetzle, it was a little lacking but with a little salt or some of the gravy it was great. We ended the night with some shared dessert, the strudel was really good, and the black forest was really good as well. The rum cake was also really good but if I had to choose I would have gone with either of the other two. Overall this place was a great evening, everyone was super friendly, but be prepared to be patient. Its not somewhere you would go to have a quick meal, not as much for the service, but the location and the popularity. If I still lived in the area I would be here all the time.

This is one our favorite "Special Occasion" restaurants. The food is always excellent and the staff always friendly and efficient. I can reccomend this place to anyone and know they will be pleased!

If you want great service and even better German food and moderately priced beer, this is your place. Entrees don't come cheap though, but I recommend the wiener schnitzel, the combo plate, or the lamb shank. A really nice restaurant, nice view, and a comfortable atmosphere.

This is a place that I look forward to going to every time I am in the area (and am disappointed if I don't get the chance to visit!) An absolute gem. Delicious food! Very friendly service. Nice view. Menu items are not something you could find at your everyday place. Authentic food.

All I can say is all of the great reviews are absolutely true! This is a quaint and intimate restaurants with wonderful service. I didn't like the food at other German restaurants that I have been to because it was too bland. Everything about this place is wonderful. I would suggest not wasting this restaurant on bad company.

I had combo grill plate, others in my party had the fish and filet. Everyone's meal was excellent. Service was very good. I recommend to anyone wanting an excellent meal with a great view of the river. Wish they would take call ahead seating or reservations.

I've lived near this restaurant for over 20 years but never had tried it (not a fan of German food, I guess). Finally tried it last night and I was impressed. great view of the sunset on the river. Server was cheerful and helpful. The menu was easy to read and understand, even for a neo-german diner. I ordered the peppercorn schnitzel. I was impressed. tender and tasty veal covered with a peppercorn sauce. A little pricey for this area, but not outrageous by any means. There were six people in our party and all were satisfied with their meals. I'd go back again. The server brought our check and pointed out that gratuity was included as we were a party of six. I appreciate that as most restaurants that have that policy DO NOT point that out when the bill comes and often get a double tip out of it. It's worth a trip if you're looking for something different with a nice view of the sunset. Note that they DO NOT take reservations. That may ut off some people, but I like the fact that you can decide to try it last minute without a big effort.

This place is another very long time local favorite for special occasions. Family run, great German cuisine, in a beautiful riverfront setting for sunset dining. Nice dining room and there are a few tables on the riverfront deck. It's a little trick to find their turn off of A1A as you head south to the inlet, but you'll see it if you're looking. The Eidelweiss is roll up your sleeves German food. From the setting to the food, Cafe Coconut Cove is much more refined and fans of German cuisine won't be disappointed.

Have been enjoying this charming cozy river front restaurant for more than 20 years. They have expanded from their original 2-rooms, which we prefer, and now offer enclosed porch and outside dining. Great service and hospitality. Our party of four enjoyed four different entries. Beer selection was too limited and they do not take reservations.

Authentic German food. The food here is awesome. Staff is super friendly and I would recommend this place to everyone eating in Brevard. For the quality and the portions the food is reasonably priced. Worth the drive where ever you are coming from.

Excellent setting along the Indian River on the "Island"... so the last thing you expect on the beach area is "Great German" food, right? That's what we got though... been here 1/2 dozen times, never disappointed... all the tradition of Munich on Melbourne Beach, facing the River.. even if they don't have it on the menu that day, order the Goulash soup... and Schnitzel any way you like it... Chicken Pork or Veal versions... don't forget the true "on the tap" German beer... I am married to a German, and live in Ft Lauderdale so my view is not based on lack of exposure to good food... this is definitely worth a try.

View, location, and quiet atmosphere - Very Nice - right on the bay side of Melbourne Beach. Arrived at about 5:30 for an early Wed dinner. Place opens at 5, very subdued crowd, not lively at all. Great view of the sunset! Food and prices - Not so great. - Appetizer of 6 small potato pancakes accompanied with apple compote and sour cream ... tasty but $8? - The good... I had the Bernaise Pork Cutlets (breaded & $19) and they were delish. Local brew lager was cold & crisp. - The not-so-good... $28 Peppercorn Filet Mignons (about 6 oz) were overcooked (medium-rare did not have much pink at all), and did not have much taste (yeah, I know .. .a filet???). Must have been previously frozen.. .for some time! Wife did not like it at all, but our guests thought they were ok. - In general, overpriced, esp compared to Seasons 52 that we had the next night in Palm Beach. Guess that's the view premium. Service ... ok - daughter did not order an entree, but our server brought her a salad anyway when all the other salads were served (nice). DId not ask if the steaks were ok even when my wife left over half uneaten (yeah, I know... a filet???)
